Jaw-Dropping Hit Defines Bears’ Statement Night As Case Keenum Delivers Third-String Magic In 27-7 Win Over Eagles
Monday Night Football at Soldier Field was supposed to be a mismatch. The high-powered Philadelphia Eagles against a Chicago Bears team starting its third-string quarterback.
Instead, it became a highlight reel for Chicago — on both sides of the ball.
While 38-year-old Case Keenum was stealing the show on offense in his first start in 1,009 days, the Bears defense was delivering the kind of hit that instantly goes viral.
In the fourth quarter, with Philly trying to claw back from a 20-7 deficit, Chicago linebacker T.J. Edwards — who already had an interception of Jalen Hurts — shot through a gap and absolutely leveled an Eagles receiver mid-air, sending him flying horizontally in front of the Bears sideline. The crowd of 62,000 erupted and the photo of the hit spread across social media in minutes.
It was that kind of night for Chicago’s defense.
The Bears forced 3 takeaways, held Philly to just 248 total yards, and controlled the clock 36:53 to 23:07. Hurts finished 16-of-25 for 153 yards, 0 passing TDs, 1 INT. The Eagles were flagged 10 times for 61 yards as frustration set in.
And while the defense was knocking Eagles
