Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce find an unexpected ally in Jennifer Coolidge to fend off critics

Actress Jennifer Coolidge has stepped forward to defend Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce against criticism from animal rights organization PETA. The couple recently visited Sydney Zoo and were photographed petting a kangaroo during their outing.

PETA released a statement suggesting that Swift and Kelce should choose to visit “true sanctuaries” instead of zoos. However, Coolidge has offered her support to the couple, stating that they likely didn’t put much thought into the outing and were simply enjoying a romantic activity.

“I love Taylor and they seem like animal lovers so I can’t condemn those guys I love them,” Coolidge told TMZ.

“I’m sure they didn’t think about it much and were trying to do something romantic so I’m going to let them off the hook on it but I agree with PETA on everything.”

Criticized for their visit to the zoo

Debbie Metzler, the Foundation’s Director of Captive Animal Welfare, expressed disappointment regarding Swift and Kelce’s visit to Sydney Zoo. Metzler emphasized the importance of choosing genuine sanctuaries over zoos when interacting with wildlife.

“While we understand all too well the appeal of seeing Australia’s wildlife, PETA hopes that next time Taylor and Travis want to see wild animals, they’ll spend their time and money at a true sanctuary,” Metzler noted.

While the allure of Australia’s wildlife is understandable, PETA hopes that Swift and Kelce will consider alternative options for future outings.
