Serena Williams Returns To Wimbledon Grass And Says Her Biggest Win Was Letting Her Daughters See It’s Never Too Late To Chase What You Love
In a post after her singles match, the 23-time Grand Slam champion opened up about what the wild card meant to her.
“It felt so good to be back on the grass at wimbledon,” Williams wrote. “I’m incredibly thankful for the wild card – and even more grateful my daughters got to see that it’s never too late to chase something you love.”
For fans, that line hit hardest. After retiring, becoming a mom of two, and building businesses off the court, Serena reminded everyone why she’s still competing: to show the next generation what chasing a dream looks like.
KNEE TWEAK, BUT THE FIGHT CONTINUES
It wasn’t a perfect return.
“I tweaked my knee late in the first set,” she admitted.
But if you know Serena, you know that’s not the end of the story.
“I’ll be doing everything I can to be ready for doubles with venuswilliams” she added.
A sister act at Wimbledon. The crowd immediately started buzzing.
CLASS TILL THE LAST POINT
Even in defeat, Serena showed why she’s the GOAT.
“Congratulations to maya.joint on a great match, and thank you to everyone who showed up and showed me so much love. That feeling will never get old.”
The ovation she got walking off proved it. Wimbledon never forgets its champions.
