Beyonce announces new album through Super Bowl commercial

Beyonce thrilled fans during Super Bowl LVIII by announcing the release date of the highly anticipated second act of her acclaimed “Renaissance” album, set for March 29. Accompanied by two new songs, “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages,” Beyonce’s venture into country music marks her second following “Daddy Lessons” from “Lemonade” in 2016.

The superstar, joined by husband Jay-Z and daughters Blue Ivy and Rumi, unveiled the news at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

Starred in Verizon commercial

Teasing the album with a Western-themed video on Instagram and unveiling cover artwork for the lead singles, Beyonce’s announcement coincided with her appearance in a Verizon commercial during the game. In the ad, she paid homage to her past music videos and hinted at a “surprise drop.”

In the ad, Beyonce takes on a challenge to break the Internet and Verizon’s 5G feature. Through various skits, including a lemonade stand nodding to her album, introducing “Beyonce AI” tech, and a playful “BarBey” spin on Barbie, she aims to achieve this.

The clip ends with Beyonce launching herself into space, hinting at new music with the declaration, “Okay, they ready. Drop the new music.”

Fans have eagerly anticipated “Act II” since Beyonce hinted at a three-part era in 2022. The first act garnered critical acclaim, earning Beyonce four Grammys and solidifying her as the most awarded artist in Grammy history.
