President Donald Trump launched the government’s new AI super-site Tuesday morning, and he opened with the one line everyone was waiting to hear about privacy.
*America.gov* went live at 10 a.m. ET from the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington. It’s being billed as the single digital front door to the entire federal government — an AI “concierge” that lets you search once and finish any task, instead of bouncing between 400 different agency sites.

The project is led by Airbnb co-founder *Joe Gebbia*, who now heads the White House National Design Studio. He told the Wall Street Journal the goal is simple: “You search, and you never go back into the maze.”
On stage with Trump were Elon Musk, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, OpenAI President Greg Brockman, and Palantir CEO Alex Karp, plus Speaker Mike Johnson. After the public launch, Trump is hosting a closed-press AI session at the White House at 12:30 p.m.

That’s Trump’s direct promise on data. With a single AI sitting on top of all federal services, privacy was the first question.
The White House says America gov will not sell your data, will not use your personal queries to train private AI models, and will run inside a secure federal cloud.
The promise comes just as federal cybersecurity is under fire. In the last week, hackers stole Pentagon records of 3 million military personnel and separately breached the FBI jobs portal — both incidents now patched, according to the agencies.

Trump also revived his famous 2020 line.
Back then in Tucson, talking about a C-SPAN editor who claimed he was hacked, Trump said: “Nobody gets hacked. To get hacked, you need somebody with 197 IQ and he needs about 15% of your password.”
On Tuesday he flipped it: “We got the 197-IQ guys building it, not hacking it.”
The administration says America gov launches today as a smart search hub, with full transactions like passport renewals and benefits enrollment added over the next year. Officials are desperate to avoid a repeat of Healthcare gov’s disastrous 2013 crash — one senior official even predicted this portal would have a bigger effect on everyday Americans than the White House ballroom renovation.
