Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid provided the latest encouraging update on star quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ recovery from his season-ending knee injury, confirming the two-time MVP is dedicating **seven hours a day** to intensive rehabilitation at the team’s facility.
Speaking ahead of the NFL Combine, Reid praised Mahomes’ relentless work ethic following his December surgery to repair a torn ACL and LCL suffered in a Week 15 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
“He’s around here all the time. He spends a ton of time here – seven hours a day,” Reid said. “He’s in there cranking away, making progress every day. It’s great to see.”
The Chiefs endured a disappointing 6-11 campaign in 2025, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2014 amid Mahomes’ absence in the final weeks. Despite the setback, the franchise remains optimistic about his comeback, with Mahomes previously stating his goal is to be ready for Week 1 of the 2026 season.
To support roster improvements during the offseason, the Chiefs recently restructured Mahomes’ massive contract, freeing up over $43 million in cap space.
