The Kansas City Chiefs are less than two weeks away from their 2023 NFL regular season starting, and Saturday will mark another step along that journey as the team closes out its preseason slate in front of the home crowd.
Coming into town are the Cleveland Browns, a squad that went 7-10 last year and is looking to take a step forward not only in the AFC North but also the conference at large. Cleveland’s hope is that quarterback Deshaun Watson has shaken the rust off after a poor showing in his partial 2022 campaign. Kevin Stefanski’s bunch is 1-1-1 this preseason, playing a fourth game this weekend due to having been featured in the opening Hall of Fame Game at the beginning of the month.
For the Chiefs, 1-1 this preseason, this final preseason outing presents an opportunity for battles to be decided all throughout the roster. Depth chart competitions, final 53 candidates and practice squad hopefuls alike will be fighting hard this weekend. With Tuesday’s roster cutdown deadline on the horizon, this is some players’ final chance to make a lasting impression on the front office and coaching staff.
