Travis Kelce revealed he planned to give Taylor Swift his number but failed before he even got a chance.
During an episode of New Heights, Travis, 33, told his brother/co-host Jason Kelce, 35, about his experience at one of Taylor Swift’s shows on the Eras Tour. The younger sibling expressed how “butthurt” he was that he couldn’t give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it.
According to the two-time Super Bowl champion, the singer doesn’t speak before or after her shows to rest her voice to handle 44 songs a night. Since he couldn’t get to her, Kelce also couldn’t give her the friendship bracelet, a trend at Swift events.
“If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets,” Kelce said. “And I received a bunch of them there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it.”
Travis’ brother asked him if he meant his jersey number or his phone number and he replied, “You know which one.”
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end took it hard, even if it’s a rule that she won’t meet with folks backstage.
“She doesn’t meet anybody, or at least she didn’t wanna meet me, so I took it personal,” Kelce said.
One person who didn’t have an access issue at the Eras Tour was Ice Spice, who linked with Taylor in person to perform their joint effort “Karma” at the East Rutherford, New Jersey stop. The two became friends after Swift reached out to her to come record in the studio.
“It was amazing. We went to the studio and she’s so humble and so nice,” Ice Spice told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1. “I kid you not. I pulled up to the studio and she outside waiting for me. I’m like, ‘Why is Taylor Swift outside?’ Like, ‘Taylor, what are you doing here?’ So she’s great. She’s so funny. We text all the time. She is fucking hilarious. I’m not going to lie. She’s the funniest person ever.”
