Gisele Bündchen says it’s ‘her turn’ to re-start her modeling career and chided NFL star husband Tom Brady’s decision to retirement U-turn by declaring: ‘I would like him to be more present.’
Speaking to Elle magazine as rumors swirl her marriage is on the rocks, Gisele said: ‘I feel very fulfilled, as a mother and as a wife. And now it’s going to be my turn.’
Her relationship with Brady, 45, reportedly hit the rocks after she returned home from a solo trip to Costa Rica because of his decision to un-retire as the Tampa Bay Bucks quarterback after a glittering career.
Insiders previously revealed that they have not yet patched up the rocky relationship, and ‘could be heading’ towards a divorce.
The stunning blonde also said she feels that she has been depicted as ‘desperate’ for her husband to retire, and went on to insist that his career success makes her happy.
She said: ‘I think this is the system we’ve been living in. That’s what society has accepted and what society hasn’t accepted.
‘Obviously, I have my concerns—this is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present.
‘I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again.
‘But ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for [them]. He needs to follow his joy, too.’
Gisele headed to her Costa Rica home without Tom at the beginning of September after having an blow-out argument with her husband – who she has been married to since 2009.
She spent time at their home in Central America following reports that the duo were fighting over Brady’s sensational decision to rejoin the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after a brief retirement.
Brady is expected to retire, for good, at the end of the 2022 season but his wife did not attend the first game of the season on Sunday.
He admitted that he was a bit banged up after the game on his Let’s Go! Podcast, saying ‘I woke up today going “Holy s***, there were a few hits.’
Brady added: ‘You look at your arm and you got bruises, you got cuts. And you go, “OK, how much longer do I want to make this commitment?”
‘And I obviously made the commitment for this year and everything’s going to be like always — continue to evaluate all these different aspects of playing.’
He agreed to retire from the sport to spend more time with his family, but then u-turned the decision – allegedly causing friction with his wife, insiders claim.
