Taylor Swift and Caitlin Clark’s passionate Chiefs support ignites a firestorm, drawing sharp taunts and playful shade from Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe. The unexpected clash has fans buzzing with controversy! 🏈🔥👀
Will Clark go back to Taylor’s suite for the AFC Championship game?
The Chiefs’ 23-14 win over the Texans in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs featured the one and only Caitlin Clark. The Indiana Fever’s and WNBA Rookie of the Year spent the entire game in the box with Taylor Swift, his boyfriend Connor and the Kelce family. Clark has been a fan of the Chiefs and Swift for years, so it’s likely that this day was a dream come true for the birthday girl, who just turned 23 a few days ago. The win put the Chiefs one win away from their fifth Super Bowl appearance in the last seven seasons, the same amount of time Patrick Mahomes has been the team’s quarterback. But now they face the Bills, the only team to beat them in the last 22 games the Chiefs have played. I’m not counting the last regular season game against the Broncos because the Chiefs starters didn’t play.
Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe Mocking Clark and Swift
Clark had a stellar debut season in the WNBA, averaging 20 points and leading the league with 8.4 assists per game. She has also raised the global profile of women’s basketball and helped the WNBA achieve record-breaking television ratings, merchandise sales and sellout crowds. Without a doubt, Clark is the face of women’s basketball, which is why Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce invited her. You may recall that a few weeks ago, Clark was a guest on the Kelce brothers’ podcast “New Heights,” where she shared her knowledge of the NFL. The union of these two celebrities was discussed on the “A Touch More” podcast hosted by Sue Bird & Megan Rapinoe.
The podcast hosts used the space to poke fun at the situation as they imagined Taylor Swift and Caitlin Clark discussing the NFL paying Taylor to support the Chiefs. They stay informed and know that there has been a lot of talk this week about the “help” the Chiefs get from the referees in their games. Four-time WNBA champion Sue Bird also commented on the upcoming season and believes that both Taylor and Travis will attend a WNBA game: “I absolutely, without a doubt, believe that Taylor and Travis will come to a Fever game.”
