Simone Biles Reveals Jonathan Owens’ Lesser-Known Trait That She Loves: ‘I’m Always Laughing’
Jonathan Owens and Simone Biles share a love like no other. From tattooing her initial ‘S’ on his ring finger to flying miles to support her in Paris, we’ve seen how he adores the very floor she walks on. But you’d think Owens would let his love get in the way when going head-on against her in a friendly challenge? Well, you might be mistaken.
Appearing in a recent YouTube interview on the channel, Not Just Football with Cam Heyward, Simone Biles let out one of Owens’ lesser-known traits. When the host reminded her of the rope-climbing challenge she threw Owens’ way in 2021, followed by asking who’s more competitive among the two, she answered, “Jonathan, 100 percent.”
Justifying it, she added, “Whenever we play games or we go somewhere, I don’t typically care about losing in those situations. As long as I’m having a good time. I’m always laughing.” But Owens is the one who gets serious, “He like, we play darts on the phone and if he loses he’s like, we’re playing it again.” While Simone Biles reaction mostly is, “I’m like, who cares?,” she reveals how, “He’s very competitive in that nature.”
She then adds how Jonathan has this need to be good in everything he does, but on the other hand, she cares very little. “I’m just like always laughing, having a good time,” she says. Clearly, over the past three years, the tables have turned. Back in 2021, as seen in the Facebook Watch original docuseries, Simone Biles vs Herself, Biles had competed against the Chicago Bears star in a rope climbing challenge.
Neither his height advantage nor his arm strength proved equal to Simone Biles’ technical skills. For he not only lost the challenge but also by a rather big margin. While he accepted that generously saying, “I burned out,” he seems to have turned way more competitive over the years. But Biles can only adore that as another one of his typical traits.
Now, he may not let her get away with the wins, but he has a very subtle way of giving her reminders and encouraging her.
