Prayers Up, Celine Dion Breaks The Sad News About Her Health That Will Shatter Your Heart!

She surprised fans with a special Eurovision message.
Celine Dion surprised fans on Tuesday, May 13 as she made a meaningful appearance amid her ongoing health battle with stiff-person syndrom. Addressing the 2025 Eurovision crowd in a pre-recorded video message, the smiling “My Heart Will Go On” singer revealed that while she was missing this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland, she was still there in spirit. Wearing a plunging gray blazer with her blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail, Dion reflected on her own “special” experience winning the honor almost four decades ago.
“I’d love nothing more than to be with you in Basel right now,” Dion shared in the video, which was broadcast at the event on Tuesday night. “Switzerland will forever hold a special place in my heart. It’s a country that believed in me and gave me the chance to be part of something so extraordinary.”
The “It’s All Coming Back To Me” star, who paired her business casual staple with a v-neck floral blouse, large silver hoop earrings, a pendant necklace, and metallic eyeshadow, then reflected on her own win at the competition 37 years earlier, which propelled her to international stardom.
Winning the Eurovision song contest for Switzerland in 1988 was a life-changing moment for me and I’m so thankful for everyone who supported me,” the 57-year-old singer, who took home first place with a rendition of “Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi” in 1988, shared.
“It’s so beautiful and emotional to see Switzerland winning and hosting this incredible event once again,” she added. “To the people of Switzerland, thank you for your love. This night is yours and I hope you feel as proud as I do.”
Dion then switched over to French, as she called music “our strength, our support, and our support in the moments where we need it,” closing out her speech by telling the audience, “I love you all, Europe and the rest of the world, of course. Kisses, I love you.” Despite Dion’s absence, CNN reported that several performer’s from last year’s competition sang a cover of her winning 1988 song in tribute.
Dion’s surprise Eurovision appearance comes months after she made a truly epic comeback performing during the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Wearing a beaded Dior gown that took over 1,000 hours to craft, the musical icon sparkled on the Eiffel Tower while singing “Hymne à l’amour” during the opening ceremony.
Dion previously opened up the devastating symptoms of stiff-person syndrome, including how it has impacted her voice. “It’s not hard to do a show now, it’s hard to cancel a show. I’m working hard every day, but I have to admit—it’s been a struggle. I miss it so much,” she revealed in her Prime Video documentary, I Am: Celine Dion. “The people. I miss them. If I can’t run, I’ll walk. If I can’t walk. I’ll crawl. I won’t stop.”
