The NFL world was shocked to the core after the news of losing two legends. Former NFL running back Jim Brown of the Cleveland Browns was one of the players who took his last breath at the age of 87, recently. The Hall of Famer was chosen as the NFL’s MVP three times. Interestingly, he pursued acting in several movies after retiring from the NFL. On the one hand, as Brown was reported to have died of natural causes, the other legend’s cause of concern is still a mystery. As fans were just trying to sink this in, the news of another similar shock broke out.

Jim Brown is one of the greats in the history of the NFL. He still holds the record of averaging 100 yards rushing per game. He also was a brilliant activist, fighting against racism, discrimination, and gun violence. While we remember the legacy of Browns legend, another unfortunate news came to light, this time from San Francisco.

The cause of death of the 49ers legend is still unknown

The 49ers announced the loss of former linebacker Craig Puki on Friday. He has been a terrific linebacker for the two seasons he played for the San Francisco 49ers. Puki was drafted by the 49ers in the third round of the NFL draft in 1980. He was also a member of the team that won the Super Bowl XVI. However, there was one very interesting incident in Puki’s life.

 

 

According to an article, Puki spent four weeks in drug rehabilitation due to his cocaine usage. However, the cause of Puki’s death remains unknown.

In his final year in the NFL, he joined the Arizona Cardinals and played a total of 7 games for the team. He played a total of 32 games in his whole career. And, fans shared their feelings about both legends.

The NFL world mourned the loss of both legends. Monique Brown, the wife of Jim Brown, posted in her story that they are receiving posts and honors in the name of her husband. She also posted that her husband had passed away peacefully at their LA home.

On the other hand, the 49ers announced the passing of Puki on their Twitter page. Fans sent their prayers and love to the families. One of the fans wrote, “Rest in peace 49ers legend, from a Browns fan dealing with our own loss as well.”
