Patrick Mahomes Sends a clear Warning to NFL

Patrick Mahomes just redefined “rebuilding.”

At the Kansas City Chiefs’ championship parade in downtown Kansas City on Wednesday, Mahomes said that NFL teams and fans doubted the Chiefs ahead of the 2022 season. By the end of it, they were Super Bowl LVII champions.

“Before we started this season, the AFC West said we were rebuilding,” Mahomes said. “I’ll be honest with you, I don’t know what rebuilding means. In our rebuilding year, we’re world champs.”

Mahomes is the only quarterback in NFL history to win two league MVPs and two Super Bowls in the first six years of his career. He’s also the first player to win an MVP and a Super Bowl in the same year since 1999, when Kurt Warner accomplished the feat with the Rams.

With two trophies under his belt, Mahomes has a chance to join Troy Aikman and Tom Brady as the only quarterbacks to win three Super Bowls in their first seven years in the league.

“This is just the beginning,” he said.
