Taylor Swift ‘stalker’ arrested outside singer’s NYC apartment and taken away in cuffs
An unknown man was arrested in Tribeca, New York on Saturday after he was seen reportedly trying to get into Taylor Swift’s apartment but was apprehended by police.

News flash: Taylor Swift's stalker was apprehended and brought away in handcuffs outside the singer's New York City apartment.

According to the NYPD Public Information Office, an individual was apprehended at around 1:35 pm on the street where Taylor’s apartment is located. Police confirmed to The Mirror that they received a 911 call of a “disorderly person” trying to open the door to what is presumed to be Taylor’s apartment’s lobby.

The man had an active warrant and was taken into custody. That is all the information given at this time.

He was also allegedly seen peering into the lobby of Taylor’s building, which might have tipped off witnesses to call the police. Earlier this week, Taylor was seen recording music at Electric Lady studio in Manhattan on Thursday, so it is possible that she was at home when the stalker arrived.

This isn’t Taylor’s first run-in with a stalker, and it’s unclear if this man has been previously arrested in connection with her. With a string of stalkers, Taylor installed facial recognition software at her Eras Tour concerts to identify certain stalkers from her past.

In May 2023, Mitchel Taebel, 36, was arrested after allegedly stalking the Love Story singer by visiting her home in Nashville, Tennesee, and odd behaviours. He reportedly sent pictures of weapons to Taylor’s team saying he would “destroy them.”

Mitchel also referred to Taylor as his “soulmate” and reportedly told her father, Scott Swift, in a message that “he is the only one that can make her secure.” Another supposed stalker Joshua Christian tried to gain entry to Taylor’s home in Tribeca and threatened the singer through the intercom in July 2022.

Taylor’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, might also be in town but there’s no confirmation. The Kansas City Chief’s tight end has a game on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo, New York, so the couple might be spending time together.

The Mirror has reached out to Taylor Swift for comment.
