Mic’d-up video showed what Patrick Mahomes told Jalen Hurts in a classy exchange after the Super Bowl
Sunday was an unbelievably tough night for Patrick Mahomes.
With the opportunity to pull off the historic three-peat in the Super Bowl, Mahomes and the Chiefs arguably had the worst game of their dynasty.
But the rough game didn’t stop Mahomes from showing respect to Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.
As we saw after the Eagles’ 40-22 win in Super Bowl 59, Mahomes was among the first Chiefs players to congratulate Hurts on his first-career Super Bowl win. While on-field video picked up pieces of the exchange on Sunday, NFL Films recently released the entire mic’d-up recap of the game. It included the full handshake between Mahomes and Hurts.
Mahomes said:
“Hey man, congratulations, man. I’m proud of you, dawg. Hell of a way to do it. Go enjoy it. Go enjoy it.”
Hurts replied, telling Mahomes that he appreciated the kind words. It was a quick exchange, but not every losing quarterback makes the effort to have that postgame handshake.
