Martha Stewart got candid about her thoughts on having Ryan Reynolds as her neighbour saying the deadpool is “not so funny” Hugh Jackman claps back with the perfect response
Hugh Jackman had the perfect response to Martha Stewart’s claim that his Deadpool & Wolverine costar Ryan Reynolds is “not so funny in real life.”
Ryan Reynolds is known for his super sense of humor.
So when Martha Stewart called him serious and “not so funny in real life,” Ryan’s Deadpool & Wolverine costar and IRL pal Hugh Jackman seized the opportunity to further shred Ryan’s ego.
“Finally,” Hugh responded on X, formerly Twitter. “Someone says it.”
Ryan, meanwhile, added his two cents to Martha’s claim. “I’d disagree with her,” he quipped on X. “But I tried that once. The woman is unexpectedly spry. She really closed the gap after a mile or so.”
The culinary mogul’s comments came about when she was asked which celebrities were listed as the most fun to hang out with while a special guest for Bilt Rewards’ November Rent Free game show. In addition to listing her friend Snoop Dogg, she noted Ryan was likely on the list.
“And you want to know something?” she said of Ryan. “He’s not so funny in real life. He’s very serious.”
She continued, “I would take Ryan off it, and I would put in somebody else.”
While she’d put Taylor Swift first, followed by Snoop, she added, “George Clooney, ‘cause he’s fun. George is really nice to hang out with.”
Yet, the 83-year-old did concede Ryan is a “good actor” who can “act funny.” She then quipped, “I’m going to get in trouble. He’s my neighbor.”
In fact, Martha has previously shared what it’s like being neighbors with Ryan and his wife Blake Lively.
“I love it when Blake Lively comes over to my house,” Martha said in a 2014 interview with the Gossip Girl alum posted on her YouTube page. “You haven’t been over for a while, but you came for Easter and we had such a good time and so did your nieces and nephews and it was very fun to have you, and Ryan.”
But while Martha may have tried to take Ryan down a peg, the Free Guy actor is no stranger to a public roasting.
In fact Blake—with whom Ryan shares daughters James, 9, Inez, 8, and Betty, 5, and son Olin, born in 2023—likewise never misses an opportunity to poke fun at him.
For instance, when hosting a surprise screening of her recent film It Ends With Us in July, Blake opted to take his mother Tammy Reynolds instead of Ryan, calling her “the hottest plus one.”
