Jake Paul has vowed to ‘outbox’ and ‘knock out’ Mike Tyson when the pair meet in a special exhibition fight on Friday night.
Jake Paul has boldly vowed to “outbox” and “knock out” boxing legend Mike Tyson in their upcoming high-profile fight. The Youtuber-turned-boxer, who boasts a record of 10-1, is gearing up for what many believe to be the most challenging match of his burgeoning boxing career against the one-time heavyweight champion.
Despite being 31 years younger than Tyson, some are sceptical about Paul’s ability to defeat ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ due to his relative inexperience. Yet, Paul remains the favourite to win and expresses no doubts about his own capabilities, putting the pressure on to deliver on his big promises or risk further embarrassment.
Addressing fans after open workouts on Tuesday, he confidently claimed: “I’m just blessed to be here. So grateful for all the fans that show up, and Dallas is going to be an amazing night on Friday. I’m just having fun, doing my thing. I feel really good. Sharp, powerful, explosive. It’s going to be a short night for Mike.”
He also dismissed concerns over experience: “It’s not about how long you’ve been doing something, it’s about how good you do it. On Friday night, people are going to see me outbox the person that’s been doing it their whole life.
“Friday my dream comes true and my career starts. This is the beginning of an amazing journey. What I’ve done so far doesn’t matter – Friday night my career starts.”
In a heartfelt message to his mother who was watching from ringside, Jake Paul declared: “She doesn’t like watching Mike Tyson throw punches because she’s a little bit scared. But Mom, I promise you, I was built for this, destined for this.
The god’s got me, the universe has got me, and I, Jake Joseph Paul, will knock out Mike Tyson, Friday November 15. It is written in the history books.”
Meanwhile, Mike Tyson has issued a bold promise of his own, assuring his children that they will witness him in a new light come fight night. He stated: “Well, family is everything. But to my children, I’m nobody. But that night they’re going to find out their father’s very special.”
Tyson added with a hint of humor: “The night of the fight they’re going to realize they’d better watch it when they talk crap to me!”.
