Brittany Mahomes gets eviscerated for “tone-deaf” response to Chiefs parade shooting

Wednesday was supposed to be a day of joy and celebration for the Kansas City Chiefs and their fans. Instead, it turned into a tragic shooting resulting in the death of one woman and injuries to several others, many of which were children.

Chiefs players reacted on social media following the shooting, with most sending heartfelt condolences. Most of it was genuine, but fans weren’t particularly thrilled with Brittany Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

Kelce was panned on social media for going out to a celebratory dinner after the parade and smiling while taking a photo with a policeman. Mahomes, on the other hand, reacted to the shooting with a message that many deemed ill-advised.

People on social media took offense to this particular statement: “Highly embarrassed and disappointed in this, Super Bowl wins will never be the same because of this, it’s devastating.”

Fans took to Reddit to criticize Mahomes for the comments.

“Yeah, and this was her second attempt. The first post was something like ‘shooting people is never the answer’ with the same emoji. Two strikes in a row this woman is a literal BIRD BRAIN.”

“This reads as ‘I’m super upset that if we win the SB next year, the celebration may not be as fun for me’.”

“I bet she’s sad the shooting took away the spotlight from her. Basically sounds like that’s what she cares about.”

The Mahomes family may want to consider hiring a more strict PR agent to run their accounts to avoid this type of blowback.
