Although he definitely seems quite emotional knowing he is about to retire, Jason Kelce definitely won’t miss a number of things any NFL center loathes. One of these things is the faous ‘Tush Push’ play, which involved him leading the charge in the end zone while getting numerous hits on the head. Although he always seemed like he enjoyed this play due to how he expressed himself about it. The reality is that Jason Kelce absolutely hated doing this play that almost always worked for the Eagles. Think about it, the number of blows directly to his head is a fast ticket to CTE world. No sane NFL player would actively seek to be at the front of that play every time.

Now that he is about to retire, there will be many different stories about Jason Kelce’s time as an NFL center that never saw the light of day when he was still active and with a long career ahead of him. Although he didn’t confirm he is retiring yet, watching him break down with his brother during the ‘New Heights’ podcast is a strong indication a retirement announcement is coming soon. With thisin mind, Fox Sports’ Laura Okmin did drop a piece of infirmation about this famous ‘Tush Push’ play. She revealed the phrase Jason Kelce shouted right after snapping the football. He yelled: “F*** my life!” Right before going in on the scrimmage.

There are probably many more things Jason Kelce is not going to miss once he announces his retirement. But getting hit in the head repeatedly has to be right at the top of that list. Players who are normally within the line of scrimmage are usually the ones who suffer the most head trauma and the ones that can get further complications from CTE. Not all linemen suffer from this after they retire but the danger is always there and Jason Kelce will surely go to the doctor constantly to keep checking himself. Hopefully, the man can have a quiet and happy retirement.
