Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie’s Daughter Shiloh Makes Name Change Official….A hard struck at Brad as Shiloh drops Pitt and pick up Jolie
Brad Pitt’s daughter has completed the legal process that began three months ago.
Shiloh Jolie is officially distancing herself from her famous father, Brad Pitt. The 18-year-old has legally dropped “Pitt” from her name, marking a significant step in her independence. According to court documents obtained by international media, Shiloh has changed her full name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to simply Shiloh Nouvel Jolie.
This legal request, first made back on her birthday in May, was finalized after a California judge signed off on it Monday morning. Angelina Jolie’s daughter has made it clear that this decision was entirely her own, even hiring and paying for an attorney to handle the process herself. TMZ broke the news, which quickly spread through entertainment outlets.
An insider revealed to Entertainment Tonight, “Shiloh hired her own lawyer and paid for it herself, so Angie doesn’t know and can’t speak for it.” This move, however, doesn’t come as a surprise, as Shiloh joins her siblings in quietly distancing themselves from their father in recent years.
Part of the name change process in California requires public notice, so Shiloh placed an announcement in the Los Angeles Times, running ads from mid-June through early July.
The whole family is moving away from Brad
The legal process hit a snag when her July hearing was delayed due to a court clerk’s error in completing a necessary background check. Shiloh’s lawyer, Peter Levine, confirmed the postponement, noting that while this delay was frustrating, it wasn’t uncommon. The hearing was rescheduled for August 19.
Shiloh’s decision mirrors that of her siblings, who have also taken steps to distance themselves from Brad Pitt. Earlier this year, her younger sister Vivienne was listed as “Vivienne Jolie” in The Outsiders Playbill, while their eldest sister, Zahara, made headlines for proudly going by her shortened name during her sorority induction last November.
As Shiloh drops her father’s name, it’s clear that the Jolie-Pitt children are navigating their identities on their own terms. This name change is just the latest chapter in the ongoing story of one of Hollywood’s most famous-and complicated-families.
