Barack Obama and Magic Johnson among many to praise Patrick Mahomes after Super Bowl win

Patrick Mahomes was one of the major heroes of the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night, so naturally, he has come in for a huge amount of praise from some very prominent names.

While some wondered if he had what it took to win early in his career, Mahomes has now won the Super Bowl on three occasions, and he has been named the MVP three times as well.

That seems to have tipped him into the conversation for being one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history.

“Yeah, it’s the start of one,” Mahomes said after the win at the Allegiant Stadium. “We are not done.”

Mahomes receives plenty of praise

Having performed so well for such a long time, some of the biggest names in America are going out of their way to congratulate Mahomes for his achievements.

“Congrats to the Kansas City @Chiefs, MVP Patrick Mahomes, Coach Reid, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones, Mecole Hardman, and the rest of the champs for another Lombardi Trophy. Grace under pressure,” former US president Barack Obama said.

Trae Young also got involved, saying: “Pat gonna say he not better than Brady & maybe he’s not (yet), but he fasho on the way *Anotha One*.”

Magic Johnson was also really impressed by the Chiefs quarterback.

“Patrick Mahomes worked his late game magic once again to seal a 25-22 Super Bowl overtime win over the 49ers! Back-to-back wins for the Chiefs and he earned his third MVP award…WOW!

In terms of the GOAT conversation, Torrey Smith knows where he stands: “I think I’m comfortable calling Mahomes the GOAT. I’ve seen enough. I’m not being a prisoner of the moment either. He is different.”
